SESSION FEES & REBATES

Session fees will be discussed when scheudling your first appointment. A Medicare rebate applies in most circumstances with a referral from a General Practitioner or Psychiatrist. A mental health care plan will currently allow up to 20 Medicare rebated therapy sessions per calendar year. Medicare rebates are currently $136.35 per 50-minutes, which covers much of the session cost and can be deposited back to your nominated account.

I am eligible to offer services under the perinatal non-directive counselling program. Medicare rebates are available for individuals who have concerns about a current or recent pregnancy. Medicare offers rebates for up to 3 pregnancy support counselling sessions for a person who is currently pregnant or who has been pregnant in the preceding 12 months.

In cases of financial hardship, a reduced rate of fees may apply with prior agreement. Private health insurance may be applicable to cover some fees but cannot be used in conjunction with Medicare rebates.

COVID-19 RESPONSE

At The Growth Room we continue to offer face-to-face services adhering to physical distancing requirements and when masks are required indoors, please ensure you have your mask with you. You will also be required to check in using my unique QR code upon entering the clinic.

I do however ask that those with cold and flu symptoms, who have come in contact with someone with COVID-19, or who are otherwise vulnerable refrain from attending the clinic in person. Please contact me as soon as possible as I will gladly discuss telehealth options with you.

PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY

The Growth Room would like to emphasise that your privacy and the information that you provide is protected at all times. This practice adheres to strict guidelines for professional conduct, in line with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Code of Ethics.

Your information and what you discuss during your interactions with The Growth Room is private. Your psychologist will keep a

brief written summary of your sessions, and these will be kept through e-files that are secure and can only be accessed by your psychologist. Your information will not be disclosed to others except in the following circumstances:

  • You are referred under a mental health care plan (in this case a psychologist is required to provide a brief report to your referring GP).

  • You provide a verbal or written request for your clinician to share particular information about you (for example, a support letter).

  • You are at risk of harm to yourself or others, in which case your psychologist has a responsibility to elicit appropriate support in order to maintain the safety of yourself and others.

  • When required by law (court subpoena) to disclose information.

If any of these situations arise, your psychologist will endeavour to discuss with you what will be disclosed.
